If there is a terrible restaurant in Excelsior or Wayzata we have never found it though we have eaten at about half the places in both towns. When E said she found a new Sicilian Restaurant downtown Excelsior I said GREAT when are we going? We were in Sicily in May. And it got better we were going to meet our friends Patrick & Stella we know through the Wayzata Wine Club at both the wine tasting and eat at Vagabonds.
One of the beautiful things about living in Minnesota is the abundance of history one can find by turning over a few rocks. Patrick, though not from Minnesota knows much of that history. He turned to me as we were having a great meal at Vagabonds and said are you aware of the history of this place. I was not, I said “Tell me the Tale!”

It seems in the 60s Mick Jagger & the Rolling Stones performed in the park on the Excelsior Bay in the park. The next morning Mick went to a local eatery that has since turned into Vagabonds where we were at that moment. Mick was trying to get a good ol British Style breakfast complete with Bacon, sausage, eggs, mushrooms, black pudding, baked beans and fried bread. The breakfast bar had about HALF of what Mick wanted and out of that moment came the song: I can’t GET No Satisfaction! I would say and I sat in the exact same seat but fiction is not what I write today Our bill was a reasonable $102
