I asked and did search for the best rooftop bar and restaurants in the Twin Cities. We had been to most except for where we are tonight Louis Ristorante & Bar on top of Cosettas next to the Xcel Center in St Paul.

We and everyone we know love Cosettas simply because they always do it right and the Louis Rest Rooftop is no different.

Louis Rest is ALL St Paul. From my seat I can see the High Bridge, the Cathedral and the Capitol. The people appear to be classy working class families with an abundance of kids in attendance.

The wine list is two pages long, what you would expect from a great Italian Restaurant. Yet they had Napa wines in addition to a great Italian selection. I had a Super Tuscan Brancaia Tre and E had a Noir from Sterling in Napa that was great to us when we toured there a few years ago.

If you are expecting the tunes from Italy don't plan on it. Expect Barry White, Willy and less we not forget Chuck Berry singing My Ding A Ling, good tunes.

With our wines came one of the better bread baskets we have ever had. The bread was similar to angel food not dry like most wine bread.

For our salad course we had a red and gold beet salad. It looked and tasted great. And for $13 was a great deal. It was enough for two of us.

We followed the beet salad with some of the best lasagna we have ever had for $22 which we again split and left both of us full.

Total bill with two good wines and two courses was a VERY reasonable $69. We highly recommend it. Ryleigh our server did and exceptional job.
