Bring the Food Truck to your next event! DelSur Empanadas, the Twin Cities' first Argentinian Empanada restaurant, opened for business on Thursday, November 8th 2018. Owned and operated by Argentine natives Diego Montero and Nicolas Nikolov, also owners of the successful DelSur Empanadas and Lomitos Food Truck since 2014. The best of South American cooking, right out of the oven (al horno), empanadas are served warm at parties and dinners alike.

Review: We like Argentinian food so we went out to Del Sur Empanadas in Minnetonka

This is a great, hole in the wall, Argentinian restaurant in a strip mall in Minnetonka. The restaurant is an upgrade from the food truck they still run.

The main food of the night is empanadas, which is kind of a filled turnover with any of a dozen fillings.
We were clueless so I had the server get us six of the most popular... well except we DONT do Spinach.
Empanadas are 3 for $10 so we had six for $20. We had: Beef, Sweet Beef, BBQ Chicken, Sweet Corn, Caprese (roasted Tomatoes, mozzarella and fresh basil), chorizo (Argentinian Chorizo, potatoes, tomatoes & Chimichurri).
In addition we had a Del Sur salad with: spring mix, tomato, cucumber, hearts of palm, chimichurri vinaigrette.
With a glass of Argentinian Cab & Malbec. We were concerned we thought we read online wine was by the bottle only but they had glasses for $8, $10, $13. They also had several beers & soft drinks.
This would be a great place for a good summer light meal with a variety of great tastes.
In a world of sometimes stuffy restaurants this place felt like anytime someone behind the counter could as you to come help and you would enjoy doing it.

The place seats 20-30 people. We come out at 7 PM on a Friday night and though they do not have reservations, we found a table. They have a deck out front for overflow.
I expect with the great staff cooking great unusual food people like they might be looking for a new location soon to be one of the great Food truck to great restaurant venues as an overnight success.
The bill was $64 with two wines & a tip.
