Cello Pasta Bar
We like going to places in the North Loop of Minneapolis. We do so because the owners of the North Loop businesses have put their money where their mouth is. We feel SAFE in the North Loop. E would like to thank those people that stood up and are paying to keep the area safe, we will continue to go there, unlike some places of the metro.

We like the area around Nicollet Island on the river by St Anthony Falls in Minneapolis, it is picturesque and again SAFE. One of the great Deli shops that has been in the region literally forever is Kramarczuk Sausage Co. It's a couple of blocks from a major name in liquor & wine Surdyks. Well across from Kramarczuk is a little Mediterranean Pasta Bar Restaurant called Celio.

Cellio is not very big in size but they have great food, drink, atmosphere and people. Sheila Grimm runs the place. She calls herself the General Manager/ Babysitter and she does a great job. The Chefs are Nate Docken & Samantha Roiland. Together the three of them have about 60 years' restaurant experience and it is appreciated and shows.

Our tastes in wine went for an Italian Sangiovese for $11 and Valpolicella from Verona Italy for $15. Both were great wines with the correct amount of breathe. Two nice reds from their good selection of six.

We followed that with Focaccia flat bread for $8. Though we know it's not good for the waistline this was great bread. That was followed by a BIG Red Leaf Salad. E and I usually share everything for cost and waistline. We were served enough salad we could have shared it with our family.

Did you ever look at a menu and say I got to try that. That is exactly how the Squid Ink Pasta got in front of me. Would I order it again. Nope not for me, but then we all like different things. Finally, we ordered Rigatoni for $20 which was the mainstay of what we ate, and it was good.

Our total bill was $103, which is about average add a few bucks for parking. Would we put it on our top ten… no. But it's a fun little place if you want to try some place new by the river.
