Today we are at Biaggi of Maple Grove celebrating our granddaughters Baptism.
https://biaggis.com/
Chain outpost serving a large menu of Italian fare plus specialty cocktails in a laid-back setting.
We are not big on chain restaurants.
Something about ordering a #7 takes something of the Romanticism out of a great dining experience. And we enjoy being surprised at seeing the presentation.
Biaggi is a national chain but high quality interesting Italian chain. The place is spotless and the receptionist were very. We were an hour and a half early on a Sunday afternoon and they nicely seated six of us right away. For those familiar with the Magle Grove Mall area they are located by Whole Foods & trader Joes.
The wine list has nearly 100 wines which was fun. Prices per glass is $7 to $31 with: Reds, whites, blush & bubbles for every taste.
I had a Antinori "Il Brucato Super Tuscan for $18. E had a CA Cab Joel Gott 815 for $12.
We had bread and oil just after seating and they were regularly filled which all too often don't happen at restaurants.
For an Appetizer we ordered the Lump Crap Cakes with Honey Orange cole slaw and Red Pepper Aioli. It was better than Skybars Crab cakes and only $14.
For a salad we had Honey Roasted Beet & Arugula salad with avocado, sun-dried cranberries, Spivey Walnuts? Montchevre Goat cheese, field greens with Honey Balsamic dressing for $11.
For the entree we had Fettuccini with Lobster with Black Fettuccini, Lobster, medley of wild mushrooms, chili flakes and lobster cream sauce. The pieces of lobster were very large 3/4" chunks. The mushrooms was an amazing addition. All for $18.99
This has been one of the most tasty meals at a reasonable price we have had in a while.
The only complaint we have is E&I shared everything and there was more food we could eat.
The bill is $156 for four adults, a toddler and an infant with wine for every one. That's $30 a piece including a $14 alcohol drink. About double what it costs at McDonalds WITHOUT the flavor or alcohol.
We'll be back!
