We go to fifty great restaurants a year. So how do you go from one of the fifty to the top ten, which we get asked about all the time? Sometimes it is a simple off the cuff remark that makes one take a step back and reassess. Angelina’s Kitchen and Wine Bar is a good place to eat and drink. But on the way out we heard a remark that made us do a double take.
On a Friday night of a Timberwolves Playoff game the manager, in East side Woodbury was getting a meal ready to travel halfway across town to keep the Timberwolves happy. If that doesn’t say something about a restaurant few things do.
We found the place, clean, the staff gracious, the food attractive and tasty, the wine above most but when a millionaire has it delivered during a playoff, let’s just call it head turning.

Angelina’s Kitchen is located in a strip mall halfway to WI on 94 then south about four miles. It’s an easy drive even with 94 under construction. The place has shiny cement floors and tall ceilings for incredibly quiet acoustics, So, you can have a quiet dinner with a friend in a packed restaurant, something we love. Oh, and they have a great patio!
Add to that a ten-page wine list which included: Reds, whites, Rose’s, Grigios, Sparkling, Sav Blancs, Chardonnays, Nebbiolo, Barolo, Barbaresco, Sangiovese, Brunello, Chianti, Valpolicella, Amarone, Noir, Zin, Merlot, Malbec, Cab, Petite Sirah, Sirah-Shiraz, blends and a piano bar call it a place to let your cares go away. I had a Super Tuscan and E had a Nebbiolo BOTH were incredible choices.

The menu is clean and nearly everything is under $20. We normally have traditional: salad, bread and a entrée’. But at Angelina’s Kitchen the pizza looked so dam good we splurged for another $17 and finished it for Saturday Lunch.
We ordered a small Greek salad with Romaine Roma Tomato, Kalamata Olives, cucumbers, red onion, Pepperoncini & feta cheese for $9 which filled both of us. A Caprese Pizza with Basil Pesto, Tomatoes, Mozzarella & Balsamic Glaze for $17. E just called it AMAZING! And Penne Alfredo with Chicken, Penne with Alfredo Sauce and broccoli florets for $25. All were very good.

Our bill with great wine was a reasonable $86.30 we’ll be back!
