Most of us are creatures of habit, E & I fall in that group. If its Friday night we are probably tasting wine and trying a new restaurant. We have debated doing something more fun & interesting, but we have yet to determine what that would be. And if we do, we are free after 8.
So we get asked where is the best place to taste wine in the metro, out of the 50-100 bottle shops that are pouring we like three: North Loop Wine, Surdyks and France 44. Now if you are thinking ahead for the weekend we always have great wine & an unusual cheese on Saturday night, which we sometimes buy on Friday night. So the best places to buy great cheese in the metro happen to be two out of the three places: Surdyks & France 44.
Ever heard of Buffalo Cheese? I made cheese in Wisconsin as a youth, and we have been eating cheese with the wine we have been tasting for almost 15 years. But when touring the Paso, CA wine region we discover Buffalo milk cheese. I did not know if I should laugh or say, now that’s something you don’t get at the grocery store. Thank you Google, for not making me look like a hick in a fancy Italian Restaurant. Buffalo Cheese is VERY Good!
Dare I digress. So anyway, it is not unusual for us to taste wine, buy interesting cheese and try a new restaurant. Three stops on a Friday night. Hold it, save the Petrol! You can do all three at the same street corner. At the corner of E Hennepin & SE second St in Minneapolis is Surdyks Wine & Cheese and All Saints Restaurant.
In the same building that once was graced by restaurants named: Rachel's, Bobino and Bardo is a new restaurant call All Saints another in the group of great restaurants that call home: 222 E Hennepin Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55414 Kitty corner to Surdyks.
