Tonight we are at 6smith on Wayzata bay overlooking downtown Wayzata. We are next to the water where dozens of boats would be parked if we were herein warmer weather. That said, despite us being in the snowiest October on record some is out on the water with a boat of 30'+.
First of all let's talk about the name 6Smith. 6Smith is a reference to a cye used to harvest barley. They liked the name... ok!
6Smith is an upscale Elegant American food venue with a brewery attached.
It is restaurant week so we each are getting three courses for $35. I got Tuna bites and E got a Caesar salad to go with my Argentinian Mendoza Malbec and E's Napa Cav Sav. Good pours with descent wines. My Tuna bites were incredible. They had an orange sauce painted on the plate that was zippy but very good. E's Caesar was fresh & good.
For our second course E ordered pan-seared Salmon and I had a Flank steak chimichurri. Flank steak is all the rage lately. We had some at the Wayzata wine club that everyone asked what it was it was so good.
When you think of flank steak you think of tough steak. But this one was cut in bite sized pieces to make it much more edible. It was served with an Au Jus sauce and peppers & herbs with a Chimichurri.
E's salmon cooked was better than my raw salmon. And her second wine was a much better pour.
The mashed potatoes were exceptional.
For the third course was great deserts. I had Key Lime Pie, oh to be at Key West tonight and eating this at Sloppy Joe's! And E had Chocolate Torte again exceptional.
Natalie was our great hostess.

There was no aspect of the meal that could be called anything but excellent. Next time we'll come in the summer when this is ground zero of the Twin City riches playground.
