Tonight we are venturing again into uptown, on Hennepin & 26th to Rinata Italian Restaurant. If you say there is no parking in uptown, you got that right. But I scored a parking spot only three blocks away.
Renata is quaint venue to get away from the run around outside.
They had a nice winellist E had her usual McNab Cab Sav and I treated myself to a Monsalaia Super Tuscan the wine the new world Italians thumbed their nose to traditions.
The menu tonight was a nice & simple choice of salads, anntipastas and pastas. With a drink list twice the size of the food menu, which for a good restaurant seemed about right
For anti pasta we ordered a brusetta with house smoked trout, paprika ailoli & capers on bread, it was interesting and very flavorful.
The Gnocchi pasta we ordered for entree' when it came looked like sliced pineapple with cherry tomato red sauce with basil leaves and pods of mozzarella & truffled buratta it was earthy & very good.
Our waitress was Haley, very nice. And our total bill with two good pours of wine sharing all food which was filling was a VERY REASONABLE $64.30 and NO extra charges!
Is it the BEST Italian Restaurant in the TC? No, but we can't decide between 3-4 great ones. Is it a GOOD Italian restaurant, yes if you want to try a new venue it's worth the price.
And for winter time they have an ANTICHAMBER… BRAVO! That's two doors at the entrance with space between. So in the winter as long as some idiot doesn't hold a door open, you don't get the cold north wind blowing on you while you eat! That is HUGE in the Twin Cities for winter dining! Thank you!
All & all it was a worth while dining experience and thanks to the person that recommended it!
