When was the last time you were in a bar, club or restaurant that the manager came up and said: "we are glad you are here!"? That happens at Nucky's a new Speakeasy in Anoka in the basement of Club 300. Speakeasys have been making a comeback over the last few years. Bachleor Farmer had one, Young Joni has one and there are a couple more in the metro. It's a step back to the 1920's a ganster area where people where shooting each other in the streets and the government were trying to control everyone's life... hmmm!

Nuck's is a new Speakeasy opened in November of 2020 during the Pandemic. It is downstairs from Club 300 which is in the old Anoka Post Office. We went after eating at Club 300. If you park in back of the building there is a stairway from the outside with a Neon Flower signaling the entrance. That is the way we went in. By going through that way you enter an old time post office entrance and have the Speak Easy Door to ring a bell and wait for the little door to open to check you out and decide if you are getting in. We "LOVE" the concept but we rang three times... the dude can be busy. If you don't need the secret entrance experience you can go down the stairway from Club 300.

Undertand you are in a basement so the place is dark. There are plenty of places to take pictures and plenty of pictures being taken. Our waitress offered to take our picture several times. People are dressed in gangsterwear and it is an interesting party atmosphere.

We came down for Bailey's on ice and an AMAZING Ice Cream desert. Three Baileys on Ice and and an incredible ice cream desert was $33. We went down about 8:30 at night as Club 300 closes for the night everyone including the staff go to Nuckys for a drink or two. Nuckys have two bar areas and two rooms with seating. It's a smaller bar but cozy. We went because we like to try something unusual and it was fun. If you want a fun night drive up to Anoka and try out Nuckys.
